Which payment processors are supported?

Stripe Connect and Square are both built in, connected during location onboarding via OAuth. No API keys to manage manually. Each location can use a different processor, so a hotel using Stripe for its main valet stand can assign Square to its event parking overflow without conflict. All transactions are PCI compliant valet payments. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe or Square and never touches your servers. Processor credentials are stored securely per location in the tenant_payment_accounts table with tenant isolation enforced at the database level. You can switch processors at any time without losing historical transaction data. The only requirement is an active Stripe or Square account; ValeKit does not process payments through its own merchant account.

Can I collect payments today?

Payment configuration is fully available. Set up rates (hourly, daily, overnight, flat, event, or tiered), tip presets, service fees, discount codes, tax rates, and connect your Stripe or Square account. Rate templates let you pre-configure pricing and apply it across multiple locations in one step. Guest-facing payment collection via the tracking link and digital receipt delivery via SMS are on the near-term roadmap.

How do tiered rates work?

Tiered pricing applies different rates based on configurable duration brackets stored as JSONB. For example, you might set $15 for the first hour, $10 per hour for hours 2 through 4, and $8 per hour beyond that. You can define as many brackets as needed. There is no limit on the number of tiers. Each bracket specifies a start time, end time, and rate, so your parking rate management software gives you full control over the pricing curve. Tiered rates can be combined with a daily maximum cap to prevent unexpectedly high charges on long-duration tickets. This level of valet billing automation means rate templates let you reuse a tiered configuration across multiple locations without re-entering each bracket.

Can different locations have different rates?

Yes. Rates, tips, fees, discounts, and tax configuration are all scoped to individual locations, so a luxury hotel charging $40 flat-rate valet can coexist with a casual restaurant charging $8 per hour under the same tenant account. Each location independently manages its own parking_rates, location_tip_configs, location_fee_configs, location_discounts, and location_tax_config records. Rate templates let you define a standard pricing structure once and apply it to multiple locations in one step, useful when adding new properties with similar pricing. Changes to a template do not retroactively alter locations already using it, so existing rates are never accidentally overwritten.

How are tips handled?

Tip presets are configurable per location with support for both fixed amounts (e.g., $3, $5, $10) and percentage-based options (e.g., 15%, 20%, 25%). The valet tipping app displays your preset values to the guest at checkout, and each tip is attributed to the specific valet who handled the retrieval and the corresponding ticket number. This per-valet attribution feeds into shift reports and individual performance tracking, giving managers transparent visibility into tip distribution. Guests can also enter a custom amount beyond the presets. Tips are recorded as part of the ticket_payments table alongside digital valet receipts, keeping them audit-ready and exportable alongside base charges and fees.
